An Event for Young People Interested in the Oil and Gas Industry

On April 22, 2022, the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (ICC YAF) organized a conference on “Challenges and Opportunities in the African Oil and Gas Industry.”

The conference analyzed the lessons and milestones from six decades of experience in Africa’s oil and gas sector, with a focus on the role of arbitration.

The event was aimed at young people interested in the oil and gas industry, as well as arbitration practitioners, executives of oil and gas companies, and public sector stakeholders with an interest in issues related to oil and gas disputes in Africa.

HBE AVOCATS was one of the event’s partners, and Ms. Sylvie BEBOHI EBONGO, Co-Founder and Partner of the HBE AVOCATS firm, moderated the panel on the scope and nature of disputes in the African oil and gas sector.

The conference was held at Akwa Palace, 920 Bd de la Liberté, Douala (Cameroon), and online starting at 8:30 AM (GMT), in French/English (simultaneous translation). The conference was free, but registration was required.
